Editorial skill tests must be fair to be useful. Our commitment to accessibility, bias review, and transparent methodology is non-negotiable.
Candidates requiring extended time can be granted a 1.5× or 2× time multiplier by their inviting client. This is set per-invitation before the test begins and does not alter scoring or benchmarking methodology.
All test content is written in standard British or American English. Clients can specify their preferred register. Content is reviewed annually for language that may disadvantage non-native speakers in ways unrelated to editorial competence.
New items are reviewed by a panel that includes editors from diverse professional backgrounds before entering the item bank. Items showing statistically anomalous performance across demographic groups are flagged for review.
Candidates are told the duration, format, and subject matter of their test before they begin. No hidden question types. No surprise format changes mid-session.
The test runner is built to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Screen reader compatible. Keyboard navigable. Font size can be increased in the accessibility panel on the test start screen.
Candidate data is not shared with third parties. Demographic data is never collected. Results are accessible only to the inviting client and the candidate.
