A perioperative complication characterized by sustained reduction in systolic blood pressure below 90 mmHg or mean arterial pressure below 60 mmHg during surgery. In acute care surgery, intraoperative hypotension may signal ongoing hemorrhage, inadequate resuscitation, or cardiovascular compromise requiring immediate intervention. Management strategies include fluid resuscitation, blood product administration, vasopressor support, and surgical source control.
