This condition reflects dysfunction in visuospatial processing and spatial construction abilities, typically associated with parietal lobe lesions, particularly in the non-dominant hemisphere. Patients with constructional apraxia may struggle with tasks such as copying simple geometric figures, drawing clock faces, assembling block designs, or building with construction toys. The deficit is often assessed using standardized tests like the Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test or clock drawing tasks. Constructional apraxia can significantly impact daily activities requiring spatial skills, such as dressing, navigating environments, or following visual instructions.
