G-prime (written G′) is a rheological parameter that quantifies the storage or elastic modulus of a viscoelastic filler material, reflecting how stiff or firm the gel is at rest. A higher G-prime value indicates a firmer gel that resists deformation and is better suited for structural volumisation, such as cheek augmentation or chin projection. Lower G-prime fillers are preferred for fine line correction or lip softening. Editors should render this term with the prime symbol (G′) in technical documents, or as 'G-prime' in running text. It is frequently confused with 'viscosity,' which relates to flow resistance rather than elastic firmness.

Usage note: Use the prime symbol (G′) in technical tables and formulas. In running prose, 'G-prime' (hyphenated) is acceptable. Do not italicise unless following a specific journal style.
