VISIA (Canfield Scientific) is a standardised facial imaging and analysis platform widely used in aesthetic dermatology for baseline assessments and treatment outcome comparisons. It captures multi-spectral images—standard, cross-polarised, and UV—to quantify features including spots, pores, wrinkles, texture, porphyrins, and UV spots. Results are expressed as percentile rankings relative to an age- and gender-matched database. In editorial contexts, VISIA appears in clinical study reports, before-and-after photographic analyses, and device marketing materials. Editors must note it is a proprietary brand name and should be styled in all capitals as an abbreviation, not as a common noun.
