The International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids (IOI-HA), developed by Cox and Alexander (2002), provides a standardised measure of hearing-aid intervention outcomes that is valid across languages and cultures. Each of its seven items addresses a different outcome domain rated on a 5-point scale. The IOI-HA is commonly used in aural rehabilitation outcome research and clinical audit. Editors must reproduce the instrument name in full on first use, abbreviate to IOI-HA (with hyphen) thereafter, and preserve the five-point Likert scale descriptors exactly as published if reproduced in tables.
