Abnormal enlargement of the excluded portion of stomach following gastric bypass surgery.
Full Definition
A complication where the excluded gastric remnant becomes enlarged due to accumulation of secretions, food debris, or gas. This can occur when the remnant loses its normal drainage pathways after gastric bypass procedures. Symptoms may include epigastric pain, nausea, and potential perforation risk. Management may require endoscopic decompression or surgical intervention.
