On color Doppler echocardiography, this appears as a mosaic pattern extending from the aortic valve into the left ventricular cavity. The jet's characteristics—including length, width, area, and velocity—help quantify the severity of aortic regurgitation. During cardiac anesthesia, monitoring AI jets is crucial for assessing valve competence, detecting acute regurgitation from surgical manipulation, and evaluating repair effectiveness.
