Cine MRI is a dynamic cardiac magnetic resonance imaging technique that acquires multiple images throughout the cardiac cycle, creating a movie-like display of heart motion. This technique uses ECG gating to synchronize image acquisition with the heartbeat, typically generating 20-30 phases per cardiac cycle. Cine MRI is the gold standard for assessing ventricular volumes, ejection fraction, and regional wall motion due to its excellent spatial and temporal resolution. Steady-state free precession (SSFP) sequences like FIESTA or TrueFISP are commonly used, providing bright blood images with excellent contrast between blood pool and myocardium.
