This surface serves as the primary boundary for automated and manual contouring algorithms in echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and CT. Pathological conditions such as thrombus formation, endocarditis, or infiltrative diseases can alter the endocardial surface appearance and affect measurement accuracy.
