Fast Imaging Employing Steady-state Acquisition (FIESTA) is a balanced steady-state free precession MRI sequence that produces high signal-to-noise ratio images with bright blood appearance. This sequence is commonly used in cardiac MRI for functional assessment and wall motion evaluation. FIESTA provides excellent contrast between blood pool and myocardium, making it ideal for measuring ventricular volumes and ejection fraction. The sequence is particularly valuable for patients who cannot hold their breath for extended periods due to its rapid acquisition capabilities.
