Abnormal drop in blood pressure during or immediately after exercise, often indicating cardiovascular compromise.

Full Definition

Exercise-induced hypotension is defined as a decrease in systolic blood pressure of 10 mmHg or more during progressive exercise testing, or a drop below the resting value. This response is considered abnormal and may indicate severe coronary artery disease, left ventricular dysfunction, or medication effects. In cardiac rehabilitation settings, exercise-induced hypotension is an important safety consideration that may require exercise modification, medical evaluation, or program suspension until the underlying cause is addressed.
