ST-segment depression
Electrocardiographic finding indicating myocardial ischemia, characterized by downward displacement of the ST segment.
Full Definition
An abnormal ECG pattern where the ST segment drops below the baseline, typically indicating inadequate oxygen supply to the myocardium during stress testing or exercise. ST-segment depression of ≥1mm (0.1mV) measured 80ms after the J-point is considered clinically significant. In cardiac rehabilitation settings, this finding during exercise testing influences risk stratification, exercise prescription limits, and monitoring requirements during training sessions.
