A flexible ultrasound probe designed for insertion through the esophagus and into the stomach to provide high-resolution imaging of cardiac structures. In cardiovascular anesthesia, TEE probes are essential for monitoring cardiac function, detecting air emboli, assessing valve function, and guiding surgical interventions. The probe contains multiple transducer elements and can be manipulated to obtain various imaging planes. Proper insertion technique and probe management are critical skills for cardiovascular anesthesiologists.
