Look-Locker

An MRI sequence technique used to measure T1 relaxation times by acquiring multiple images at different inversion times after a single inversion pulse.

Look-Locker is a rapid MRI acquisition technique that allows measurement of T1 relaxation times by sampling the magnetization recovery curve at multiple time points following an inversion pulse. This method is particularly valuable in cardiac imaging for T1 mapping applications, enabling assessment of diffuse myocardial fibrosis and other tissue characterization. The technique provides faster acquisition compared to traditional inversion recovery methods, making it clinically practical for cardiac applications where breath-holding is required.

Usage note: Often confused with MOLLI, which is a modified version of this technique.
