Quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) is an objective, computer-assisted analytical technique that provides precise measurements of coronary artery dimensions, stenosis severity, and vessel geometry from angiographic images. QCA systems use edge-detection algorithms to automatically trace vessel contours and calculate parameters including minimum lumen diameter, reference vessel diameter, percent diameter stenosis, and lesion length. This technology eliminates inter-observer variability inherent in visual assessment and provides reproducible measurements essential for clinical research and device sizing. QCA has become the standard for angiographic core laboratories in clinical trials and is increasingly used in clinical practice for optimal device selection and procedural planning.
