Full Definition
An endoleak occurs when blood continues to flow into an aneurysm sac after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR), indicating incomplete exclusion of the aneurysm from circulation. Endoleaks are classified as Type I (attachment site), Type II (branch vessel backflow), Type III (fabric tear or modular disconnect), Type IV (fabric porosity), or Type V (endotension). Detection and management of endoleaks is crucial for preventing aneurysm expansion and rupture.
