Full Definition
The Gross Motor Function Measure is a criterion-referenced observational instrument designed to measure changes in gross motor function over time in children with cerebral palsy. The GMFM evaluates how much of a function a child can perform rather than the quality of performance. It consists of 88 items across five dimensions: lying and rolling, sitting, crawling and kneeling, standing, and walking, running, and jumping.
