Full Definition
A Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a structured self-advocacy and wellness planning tool developed by and for people with mental health conditions. WRAP plans include identification of personal wellness tools, daily maintenance strategies, triggers and early warning signs, crisis planning, and post-crisis recovery plans. The process is facilitated by trained WRAP facilitators, often peers with lived experience, and emphasizes personal responsibility, hope, and recovery. WRAP is widely used in community mental health settings as both an individual planning tool and a group educational program.
