A breast implant placement technique where the implant is positioned beneath the fascia of the pectoralis major muscle but above the muscle itself. This approach aims to provide some of the benefits of submuscular placement (such as reduced capsular contracture rates) while avoiding complete muscle coverage. Subfascial placement can help camouflage implant edges and provide better soft tissue coverage compared to subglandular placement, particularly in patients with minimal breast tissue. The technique requires careful dissection to preserve the fascial plane.
