An FMX (Full Mouth X-Ray Series), also documented as FMS (Full Mouth Series) or FMR (Full Mouth Radiographs), is a complete radiographic survey of the entire dentition consisting of periapical and bitewing radiographs. It is typically prescribed at a new patient examination or at periodic intervals for high-risk patients. The CDT code for an adult FMX is D0210. Editors reviewing clinical records, consent forms, or scheduling documents must ensure the abbreviation is used consistently and that variant forms (FMX, FMS, FMR) are not mixed within the same document.
