CRUSADE score
Bleeding risk assessment tool for patients with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndromes.
Full Definition
The Can Rapid risk stratification of Unstable angina patients Suppress ADverse outcomes with Early implementation (CRUSADE) score is a validated bleeding risk prediction model specifically designed for patients with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndromes. The score incorporates baseline characteristics including hematocrit, creatinine clearance, heart rate, sex, heart failure signs, diabetes, and peripheral vascular disease to predict the risk of major bleeding during hospitalization. CRUSADE scores help clinicians balance ischemic and bleeding risks when selecting antithrombotic strategies and determining appropriate medication dosing.
Usage
Usage note: Acronym always capitalized; specific to NSTE-ACS bleeding risk.
