Surgical technique using maternal blood components, typically platelets and cryoprecipitate, to seal amniotic membrane defects and prevent amniotic fluid leakage following fetal surgery. The amniopatch creates a biological seal that promotes membrane healing while maintaining membrane integrity during the remainder of pregnancy. This technique has largely replaced earlier methods and significantly reduces the risk of oligohydramnios and preterm labor following fetal intervention.
