Congenital high airway obstruction syndrome (CHAOS) is a rare fetal condition characterized by complete or near-complete obstruction of the upper respiratory tract. This obstruction leads to fluid accumulation in the lungs, causing them to appear hyperechoic on ultrasound. The condition requires immediate postnatal airway management and may necessitate prenatal intervention such as the EXIT procedure to secure the airway at birth.
