GOG protocols are clinical research studies designed and conducted by the Gynecologic Oncology Group (now part of NRG Oncology) to advance the understanding and treatment of gynecologic cancers. These protocols establish standardized treatment regimens, eligibility criteria, and outcome measures for clinical trials involving ovarian, cervical, endometrial, vulvar, and other gynecologic malignancies. GOG protocols have been instrumental in establishing many current standard-of-care treatments in gynecologic oncology and continue to evaluate new therapeutic approaches through multi-institutional collaborative research.

Usage note: GOG is always capitalized; now operates under NRG Oncology but GOG designation remains in protocol names.
