anteverted uterus

Normal uterine position where the uterine fundus tilts forward toward the bladder.

Full Definition

An anteverted uterus describes the normal anatomical position where the uterine body tilts anteriorly (forward) toward the bladder, forming an acute angle with the cervix. This is the most common uterine position, found in approximately 75% of women. The anteversion angle is typically measured during pelvic examination or imaging studies and is distinguished from anteflexion, which refers to the angle between the uterine body and cervix.

Usage

Usage note: Distinguish from anteflexed; both terms describe different aspects of uterine positioning.
