The Binet staging system is a European prognostic classification for chronic lymphocytic leukemia that divides patients into three stages (A, B, C) based on the number of enlarged lymphoid areas and the presence of cytopenias. Stage A involves fewer than three lymphoid areas, Stage B involves three or more areas, and Stage C indicates anemia or thrombocytopenia. This system helps predict prognosis and guide treatment decisions in CLL patients.
