Full Definition

Target lesion revascularization (TLR) refers to any repeat percutaneous or surgical intervention performed on the same coronary lesion that was previously treated with percutaneous coronary intervention. TLR is typically required due to restenosis, stent thrombosis, or disease progression at the treated site. This endpoint is commonly used in clinical trials and registries as a measure of procedural durability and long-term efficacy. TLR is distinguished from target vessel revascularization, which includes interventions anywhere within the same coronary vessel. The need for TLR represents a clinical failure of the initial intervention and often requires more complex repeat procedures.
