An endobag is a sterile, impermeable bag designed for safe specimen removal during minimally invasive procedures. These bags prevent spillage of potentially infected or malignant tissue into the peritoneal cavity during extraction through small trocar sites. Endobags come in various sizes and may be introduced through 5mm, 10mm, or 12mm ports depending on specimen size. They typically feature a drawstring closure mechanism and may be made of nylon, polyethylene, or other biocompatible materials. Proper use is critical for oncologic procedures to prevent tumor seeding.
