The bag is introduced through a port in a collapsed state, opened within the abdomen to receive the specimen, then sealed and withdrawn through the port or through a small extension of the incision. These bags are essential for procedures involving suspected malignancy, infected tissues, or when tissue morcellation is being avoided.
