Mirror syndrome, also known as Ballantyne syndrome, is a rare maternal condition that develops in association with severe fetal hydrops. The mother 'mirrors' the fetal condition by developing edema, hypertension, and proteinuria. The syndrome typically resolves after delivery or resolution of the fetal condition. Early recognition is crucial as it can progress to life-threatening complications if untreated.
