The Fisher grade is a widely used classification system that categorizes subarachnoid hemorrhage based on the appearance and distribution of blood on computed tomography scans. Grade 1 indicates no blood detected, Grade 2 shows diffuse thin layer of blood, Grade 3 demonstrates thick clots or layers of blood, and Grade 4 reveals intracerebral or intraventricular hemorrhage. This grading system helps predict the risk of developing delayed cerebral ischemia and guides clinical decision-making in neurocritical care.
