Inversion time - the delay between inversion pulse and excitation pulse in inversion recovery sequences.

Full Definition

Inversion time (TI) is the time interval between the 180-degree inversion pulse and the subsequent 90-degree excitation pulse in inversion recovery MRI sequences. This parameter is critical for tissue contrast optimization, particularly in FLAIR sequences where cerebrospinal fluid signal is nulled. Proper TI selection enables specific tissue suppression or enhancement in clinical imaging protocols.
