Neurosarcoidosis represents the involvement of the nervous system in sarcoidosis, a multisystem inflammatory disease characterized by non-caseating granulomatous inflammation. Neurological involvement occurs in approximately 5-15% of patients with systemic sarcoidosis and can affect both the central and peripheral nervous systems. Common manifestations include cranial neuropathies (especially facial nerve palsy), aseptic meningitis, hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction, and spinal cord involvement. Diagnosis can be challenging as neurosarcoidosis can mimic many other neurological conditions.
