Rhabdomyolysis is a potentially life-threatening syndrome involving the rapid breakdown of skeletal muscle fibers, leading to the release of intracellular contents including myoglobin, creatine kinase, and other cellular components into the circulation. The released myoglobin can cause acute kidney injury, while electrolyte imbalances may lead to cardiac arrhythmias.
