Full Definition

A 30-point cognitive screening instrument designed to detect mild cognitive impairment and early dementia. The MoCA assesses multiple cognitive domains including attention, concentration, executive functions, memory, language, visuoconstructional skills, conceptual thinking, calculations, and orientation. It takes approximately 10 minutes to administer and is more sensitive than the Mini-Mental State Examination for detecting subtle cognitive changes.
