This sensory system provides continuous feedback about the relative position of body parts and the effort required for movement, enabling coordinated motor activity without relying solely on vision. Kinesthetic awareness is essential for motor learning, balance, and the execution of skilled movements. Occupational therapists assess and address kinesthetic deficits that may impact a client's ability to perform daily activities safely and efficiently, particularly following neurological injury or in developmental conditions.
