Spindle cell melanoma is a histologic subtype of uveal melanoma characterized by malignant melanocytes with an elongated, spindle-like morphology. Spindle cell melanomas generally have a better prognosis than epithelioid cell melanomas, with lower rates of metastasis and longer survival times.
