Iridodonesis refers to the characteristic trembling or oscillating movement of the iris that occurs with eye movement when the normal support structure of the lens is absent or compromised. This sign is most commonly observed in aphakic eyes (after cataract extraction without IOL implantation) or in cases of lens subluxation or dislocation. The movement occurs because the iris lacks its normal posterior support from the crystalline lens, allowing it to move freely within the anterior chamber.
