Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) is an advanced imaging approach that combines multiple MRI sequences to provide comprehensive tissue characterization and improve diagnostic accuracy. The technique typically includes anatomic sequences (T1-weighted, T2-weighted), functional sequences (diffusion-weighted imaging, perfusion imaging), and sometimes spectroscopic data. In oncology, mpMRI is particularly valuable for prostate, breast, and brain tumor evaluation. The integration of multiple parameters allows for better lesion detection, characterization, and monitoring of treatment response. Each sequence provides complementary information about tissue microstructure, vascularity, and cellular density.
