Adenomatoid odontogenic tumour (AOT) is a slow-growing, benign lesion that accounts for approximately 3–7% of all odontogenic tumours. It most commonly presents as a follicular variant associated with an unerupted canine tooth in adolescent females. The lesion is well encapsulated, which facilitates conservative enucleation without recurrence. Histologically, it features whorled nodules of columnar epithelial cells forming duct-like spaces, along with calcifications and amyloid-like deposits. Editors should note that AOT was historically mislabelled as an 'adenoameloblastoma,' a term now considered obsolete.
