Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation platelet concentrate that forms a natural fibrin matrix containing platelets, leukocytes, and growth factors. Unlike platelet-rich plasma (PRP), PRF requires no anticoagulants or additives and forms a stable clot that releases growth factors slowly over time. It is used to enhance soft tissue healing, bone regeneration, and reduce post-operative complications. PRF is commonly applied in extraction sockets, sinus augmentation procedures, and periodontal regenerative therapy.
