Windswept deformity is a characteristic bilateral lower extremity deformity where one leg demonstrates valgus angulation (angled away from midline) while the contralateral leg shows varus angulation (angled toward midline). This creates an appearance as if the legs have been blown by wind in the same direction. The condition is commonly seen in neuromuscular disorders, metabolic bone disease, and certain skeletal dysplasias. Treatment typically requires staged surgical correction to address both deformities.
