A modular orthosis is assembled from a set of pre-made components—such as uprights, joints, bands, and footplates—that are combined in various configurations to create a device tailored to the patient. This contrasts with a custom-fabricated orthosis, which is made from raw materials shaped entirely to the individual. Modular systems offer faster delivery and easier adjustment but may not achieve the same degree of anatomical conformity.
