A hemi-walker is a mobility aid designed for patients who have the use of only one functional upper limb, providing greater stability than a standard cane while being operable with a single hand. It is frequently prescribed in conjunction with an ankle-foot orthosis for hemiplegic patients post-stroke or post-traumatic brain injury. In orthotic documentation, it may appear in the functional goals section of a custom orthosis justification.
