A specific pattern of forearm injury involving fracture of the proximal or mid-shaft ulna combined with dislocation of the radial head from the radiocapitellar joint. In children, this injury is often missed on initial evaluation and may present as isolated ulnar fractures. The Bado classification system is used to categorize these injuries, with Type I being most common in pediatrics. Prompt recognition and appropriate treatment are essential to prevent long-term complications including radioulnar synostosis and loss of forearm rotation.
