Physeal modulation is a minimally invasive surgical approach that corrects angular deformities in growing children by applying the principles of guided growth. The technique involves placing implants (typically tension band plates or staples) across one side of a growth plate to temporarily restrict growth, allowing the opposite side to continue growing and gradually correct the deformity. This method is preferred over corrective osteotomy in many cases as it works with the child's natural growth potential and typically requires smaller incisions.
