The Soave pull-through is an endorectal surgical procedure used to treat Hirschsprung disease, involving removal of the aganglionic bowel while preserving the rectal muscle cuff. The technique involves dissecting the mucosa from the muscle wall of the rectum, removing the aganglionic segment, and pulling healthy bowel through the preserved muscular sleeve. This approach maintains anal continence mechanisms better than other techniques. Modern variations include laparoscopic-assisted and single-stage approaches.
