Animation deformity is a phenomenon that occurs with submuscular breast implants where the implant moves or changes shape when the pectoral muscle contracts during arm movement or exercise. This creates a visible distortion of the breast contour that can be aesthetically displeasing. The deformity is more pronounced with larger implants and certain implant shapes. While not medically dangerous, it can be bothersome to patients and may require surgical revision to subglandular placement or muscle modification techniques.
