The Patella-Tendon-Bearing (PTB) socket is a conventional below-knee prosthetic interface in which the patellar tendon bar provides the primary load-bearing site, while bony prominences such as the tibial crest and fibular head are relieved to prevent pressure injury. Once the dominant transtibial socket design, PTB has been largely supplanted by TSB designs in contemporary practice, though it remains relevant in prosthetic literature and historical clinical records.
